Tuesday
9 - 9:30am - First time back in the office and I view the week ahead with Hannah,
my PA and make sure I am going to be in the right place at the right time with everything
I need.
9:30am - An hour or so of administration followed by a couple of hours of study and
preparation for the week ahead. I value the opportunity of ministering within the
church and outside but I’m aware of the responsibility to prepare well in bringing
the Word.
4pm - Meet with Nic and Jen, our co-pastors to pray.
5:30 - 7pm - Healing Rooms planning meeting with a small team. Our Healing Rooms
opened in May 2007. They are open 1 - 3pm each Saturday and we are seeing 17- 20
people coming each week for prayer for healing; a third of these are non Christians.
7pm - Leave for home and arrive just as Julie is about to begin her cell, so tonight
it’s just me and the dogs watching TV!
Wednesday
7:30 - 8:30pm Discipleship with one of the men from my cell. These discipleship times
are an opportunity to review what God is saying to my guys, how their walk with God
is going, share a thought or two and pray together.
10 - 12pm - Coaching group with a small group of staff
12pm - Lunchtime meeting (with food!) with Dan Prior and Bel Reynolds to discuss
the logistics of our live worship album recording that is coming up. I really enjoy
working with our guys on these types of projects.
1pm - Since Julie is away for a few days, I dash home for an hour to walk our 2 wonderful
Shih Tzus!
2 - 7pm - Out on patrol doing my community police chaplaincy. I have the wonderful
privilege of being a Merseyside Police volunteer - working as a Police Chaplain based
out of Admiral Street.
7:30pm - Meet with my daughter-in-law, Kate to give her resources for her preach
this Friday at youth and then home for tea.
Thursday
9am - 3 hours study finalising my wonderful PowerPoint display on the book of Isaiah!
12:30pm - Meet one of the guys from my cell for discipleship in the coffee shop
1:30pm - Planning meeting. I have been invited to take a team this spring to North
Africa to deliver Healing Room Training. I love to teach and impart the Word of God
especially on the topic of the supernatural life-transforming power of God. Decided
to go, just need to confirm the date.
2:30pm - Study and preparation again. With a week’s holiday coming up some forward
planning is needed. Need to start getting my next Sunday evening preach on Ezra together.
Time to brainstorm and wait on God.
6 - 7:15pm - Time for two more discipleship sessions. It’s a great privilege to invest
in the lives of men and see the grace of God in their lives.
7:30 - 8:30pm - Tonight I’m speaking on Level 2 of our Discipleship Training School.
This is another opportunity to train and equip men and women for the vision God has
given us.
8:30pm - Nearly time to go home. I briefly meet with Jenny Harding to plan our section
of the Annual General Meeting which is on Saturday.
9pm Arrive home - Give me food please!
Friday
9 - 10am - Administration and meet with Hannah my PA and ask her to find some images
for a PowerPoint for the AGM tomorrow - last minute ideas - Must get this planning
thing together!
10 - 4pm - Vision Team. This is our monthly elders’ meeting. During this meeting
we spend time planning 1, 2 and 3 years ahead and pray together.
4:30pm Take the dogs out for another walk for an hour! I’m off to the movies tonight
with Julie for the evening to see Nicholas Cage in National Treasure. We love going
to the cinema!
Saturday
I need to juggle several things today. First, I need to brief the guys heading up
Healing Rooms this afternoon. At the AGM today my job is to talk about the vision
of the church and how this is being worked out. Then I will briefly go to the Healing
Rooms before heading off to the wonderful Goodison Park! I watch Everton play Reading
in one of the most boring games I’ve ever seen but at least we won!
Saturday evening - shhh!
No meetings, having an evening in with Julie.
Sunday
9am- Quick hour of final preparation as I’m speaking at the Sunday morning celebration.
Out for lunch with Julie and friends.
5pm - Time to pick up my good friend Steve Connolly as we’re both off to teach in
North Wales for the evening. Time to stop for another snack to eat on the way. (Only
because Steve was hungry; it would be rude not to join him!)
11pm - Home in time to watch Match of the Day 2. Liverpool didn’t win... Shame!
