Heal Our Land

Book Review

“Thank God it’s Monday”

by Mark Green

Reviewer: Mike Balmford

Mark Green is Director of the London Institute of Contemporary Christianity and his revolutionary book on the whole theology of the workplace and what Christians do when not in church, is now reprinted. Mark worked for ten years in advertising in London and New York before studying theology at London Bible College, then lecturing in Communications and Contemporary Culture. Buy a copy for your pastor, elder, vicar and pray that the Spirit will show our leaders who the real missionaries are in the church and why we should look at how ‘we do church’ on Sundays and why so many Christians are struggling in the workplace. We all need to see how our work life as well as our church life can be lived fruitfully for God. This revised book should be top of all our priority lists that we might all learn God is ‘at work’, and that it is there that we meet those he wants to reach. This is a truly prophetic book, first written over ten years ago and reprinted and revised in 2004.

Perhaps Mark needs to consider a new format in keeping with the courses now run in churches midweek. The many case studies mean this book gives a highly practical insight into work, our fellow workers and our bosses.
